For serious skiing, try Manganui with 65 percent of its runs considered advanced, and only five percent suitable for beginners. The Stratford Mountain Club Lodge operates the hill and offers a day lodge for skiers with restrooms and a canteen. Manganui is situated within Egmont National Park on Mt Taranaki. When conditions are permitting, very serious skiers can climb for two hours to the peak for a 1300-metre (4265-feet) run.
